Since Saint Martin is divided between France and the Netherlands, the formalities, which have to be carried out when entering or leaving the island, differ from one side of the island to the other.

On the French side

  1. The Border Police (PAF)

    Baie de Marigot

    • Situated on the waterfront in Marigot, at the ferry terminal
    • Open Monday to Friday from 8am to noon and from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm
    • Open on Saturday from 8am to noon.
    • Closed on Sundays
    • Passports and original boat papers must be presented.

Simpson Bay Bridge

All vessels entering Simpson Bay and the Simpson Bay Lagoon are by law required to clear in at the lagoon Authority Collection (+1721 545 3183) office immediatly after arrival and pay the indebted bridge, harbor and clearance fees.
Contact the bridge operator on  VHF12 to ask permission to use it, inbound, and outbound.
A fee will be applied.

  • 18m - 22m : usd 120
  • 22m - 28m : usd 200
  • 28m - 36m : usd 300

7 scientifiques, près de 200 plongées de jour comme de nuit, un laboratoire éphémère et trois semaines d’étude pour 700 nouvelles espèces marines identifiées dans la Réserve Naturelle.
Les premiers résultats de cette expédition scientifique ont dépassé toutes nos attentes et l’équipe a découvert avec émerveillement des espèces jamais identifiées
auparavant dans nos eaux.
Nous vous en offrons un échantillon dans les pages qui suivent, en attendant le rapport complet, en septembre prochain et une exposition photo de cette faune méconnue.
Cette richesse naturelle est une raison supplémentaire de préserver nos écosystèmes, sur lesquels pèsent tant de menaces. Seule une prise de conscience écologique globale permettra d’éviter les pollutions, de mettre un terme à la pêche clandestine ou encore de favoriser la ponte des tortues marines sur nos plages.
L’une des missions de la Réserve est d’encourager cette prise de conscience, comme elle s’y emploie au fil des pages de ce journal. Bonne lecture!
